New York-based Elisabeth Möhlmann is the founder of Blaze a Path Productions, and a former actor and stage director. Born in Munich, Germany, Elisabeth grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and studied philosophy before moving to New York City to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute. She later returned to New York City and established a successful real estate career before meeting Mama Irene. That fateful encounter helped heal Elisabeth from a debilitating illness, and ultimately sparked the creation of this project. Mama Irene has granted Elisabeth the exclusive rights to document her life and healing crafts.

Documentary film producer and director Bettina Ehrhardt holds a Master’s degree in French Literature and a diploma in Film Studies both from Lyon 2 University.Her favorite subjects range from ethnology. nature and politics to the arts. Passionate about music, she has made several films dedicated to composers and conductors like Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Kent Nagano, Pierre Boulez, Luigi Nono, Helmut Lachenmann, Bernd Alois Zimmermann. Her films are broadcast on channels as diverse as ZDF, Arte, WDR, BR, Radio Canada, RAI and were awarded on international documentary film festivals. In 2009 she founded bce films & more GmbH. A tireless traveler, by taste and profession, Bettina Ehrhardt is based in Munich.

Archaeology has had a long, strained history with Indigenous America. A review of past controversies and egregious conflicts with Native people and Tribal Nations in America begins with a chronological telling of the federal statutes that progressively went from protecting sites and places of heritage and research for archaeologists, to statutes that protect the interests of Native America. The story tells how statutes and training a new generation of archaeologists have been used to repair and restore damage done over the centuries.
The narrative follows the excavation of the oldest site for European settlement in North America along side a Native American village. Archaeologists consult with these Native Nations that today are the descendants that can be associated with this 450 year old site. Archaeological methods are followed within a set of legal guidelines for points along the process that demonstrate how respect and consideration for the Native American community is adopted as part of the training, understanding and processes of the new generation of archaeologists and anthropologists.

Barbara Santi is an award winning documentary filmmaker and co-founder director of awen productions CIC based in West Cornwall.
At the heart of Barbara’s work is to raise under-represented peoples voices through film. She’s made documentaries for Channel 4 and Carlton and shown films on Reel Stories, FourDocs, Current TV, The Community Channel, galleries, museums, conferences, film festivals and has toured extensively promoting film in rural settings.
Barbara’s work focuses on film and digital technology for positive social change. She’s made creative documentaries on subjects as diverse as rural issues, archive film, local heritage/history, human rights, youth culture, disability, farming, globalisation and the environment.
In 2020 Barbara was one of 10 female entrepreneurs in the UK selected to take part in Creative England’s Female Founders Scale Up programme, an eight-month dedicated and prestigious scheme for ambitious female founders of screen-based companies. Barbara has recently completed a film-by-practice PhD at Exeter University where she was awarded a scholarship.

Filmmaker, Cyrille Cornu is also scientist, explorer, naturalist and photographer. He has conducted research on the baobabs of Madagascar for ten years. Author of numerous publications on the subject, he organizes expeditions every year to the heart of the most remote forests of Madagascar to study the giants there. The island is a unique source of inspiration. Nature, lights, encounters and landscapes are exceptional. Since his arrival in Antananarivo in 2010, he has constantly crisscrossed the Malagasy territory to capture images with his camera. Released in 2015, his first film entitled “Baobabs between Land and Sea”, was selected by a hundred festivals in more than seventy countries and won thirty-five awards including four grand prizes. On the strength of this success, Cyrille left research to devote himself to the production of documentary films. At the same time, he works on photographic reports and books. He is currently directing a documentary series consisting of three 52-minutes films on the theme of the baobabs of Madagascar. Filming sessions took place between January 2017 and August 2020. “Mamody, the last baobab digger” is the first film of the series. The two other ones are in production.

Giuseppe is a shepherd who lives and works on the outskirts of Nuoro and has to deal with traffic and rigid town rules whilst leading his flock to the nearby pastures. The film tries, on one hand, to transmit the fading value of rural life, and on the other, depicts Giuseppe’s strong attachment to it. The town denies him the right to be himself, to continue living where he always has, doing things his own way. The images and Giuseppe’s own words describe the contradiction of a serene way of life pierced by bitter peeks of irony.

Born in Alghero (Sardinia – Italy), he lives and works in Nuoro (Sardinia). He learnt about documentary production at the Istituto Superiore Regionale Etnografico, where he was worked since 1987. He is responsible for the audiovisual activities of the institute. His first directing experience was in 1996 with the documentary Giorni di Lollove (Days of Lollove), wich focused on the daily life and festive occasions of a small outward lying ward of Nuoro.
