Concept 2024

The theme of this 6th edition is: “The Role of Peace for Sustainable Communities”. This year Heritales will explore sustainable communities as a way to promote global peace, bringing together documentaries and other artistic works. Over three months, more than 20 films will be available for viewing and voting online, and it will promote live sessions in various international spaces. The culmination of the festival is celebrated with an award ceremony in the last week of September. As part of the event, we are trying to organize a three-day residency for the directors of the selected works. During this period, workshops and debates will take place as well as film projections for the general public.

In this sixth edition, Heritales has partnered with the UNESCO Chair of Education for Global Peace and Sustainability at the
University of Lisbon (Portugal).

We will be supported by the Museum and Monuments of Portugal for the scientific committee and the offering of fantastic projection spaces.

The award trophies will be produced by the students of the joint program of The Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, and the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University Nova of Lisbon together with Vicarte Laboratory.
