Heritales celebrates the awards ceremony of the 2024 competition. We would like to invite you all to a four nights celebration of films about “The Role Peace for Sustainable Communities”. The event will take place in various locations in the municipality of Almada-Portugal  (please see below)

This year we are going to explore amazing work from all over the world that present peace and the effect of conflict and war on sustainable communities, inline with the UNESCO Chair of Education for Global Peace and Sustainability.

We are also trilled to announce that we have partnership with the APCAlmada, which will give us the opportunity to celebrate local traditions trough dance and music. Please come and enjoy these free documentary cinema and other incredible activities with us!

Heritales @ Scoil Ide Limerick – Ireland (4th of June 2025)

Animation Showcse Scoil Ide

We invite you to come and join us in the halla in Scoil Ide for a fantastic evening of animation, as we showcase the works of local and international animators.

Our own past pupils, Mikey Mahon and Fiadh Browne, will return for the screening of some of their animations, and stay for a chat about their craft and projects.

As well as this, a wonderful collection of movies from the Heritales International Heritage Film Festival have been selected for screening..

Heritales @ Centro Cultural Fernão Mendes Pinto – Almada – Portugal (21st of September 2024)

Double date at The European Heritage Days 2024, in one of the most beautiful areas of Of the South Bay of Lisbon (Portugal)
The first will be with: “Memory, Itinerancy and Freedom” – a theme and a dramaturgy; of life and work. These were the topics that led to the documentary film workshop, an initiative by Almada Mundo – International Association of Education, Training and Innovation and which had the support of Almada City Council. The exhibition of short films produced will have the participation of the following authors/directors: Agostinho José, Bruna Canilhas, Eduardo Pereira, Fernando Chainço, Joaquina Soares da Silva, Juliana Sousa, Márcio Paca Chitula, Marco Rocca, Mercedes Goacuto.
The second moment will present the screening of the Heritales International Heritage Film Festival’s animated shorts. An event that started in 2016 and has never  missed the JEP since then. This year we will show a selection of the 2024 competition. The rest will be projected in the coming months in various places in the country and in other international partner entities.
